Taichung HSR Station: Xinwuri and City Transfers
Plan onward travel from Taichung HSR in Wuri and understand the difference from central TRA Taichung Station.

Three names at the Wuri interchange
The interchange combines THSR Taichung, TRA Xinwuri and Taichung MRT HSR Taichung Station. TRA Wuri is a different station, and central TRA Taichung is further along the conventional railway. If continuing to central Taichung by TRA, follow signs to Xinwuri and select the appropriate onward train.
Choose the connection by district
Use TRA for a rail connection toward central Taichung Station, or compare the metro for destinations near its Green Line. Sun Moon Lake requires a separate bus connection; check the current boarding point and operator schedule. Tickets, bus reservations and the walking transfer are separate parts of the itinerary.
Pre-trip checklist
- Confirm whether the journey uses THSR, TRA, or a separate tourism railway.
- Check the full station name because HSR and TRA stations may be in different parts of the same city.
- Recheck current operator information shortly before departure.
- Allow enough time for transfers between rail systems and local transport.
