Kaohsiung Stations: Zuoying HSR, Xinzuoying and Metro

Understand Zuoying HSR, Kaohsiung TRA and the local transfer needed for a south Taiwan itinerary.
TaiwanTrain is an independent service, not the official THSR or TRA website. Where booking is offered, availability confirmation and ticket fulfilment are manual. Payment does not guarantee ticket issuance. Check the operator’s current timetable and ticket rules for your travel date.
Zuoying, Xinzuoying and Kaohsiung
THSR Zuoying connects with TRA Xinzuoying and Kaohsiung Metro R16. TRA also has a station named Zuoying, which is not the same as Xinzuoying. Kaohsiung Main Station is another TRA stop with metro access. Use the full operator and station name when booking, meeting a driver or checking a map.
Connect to the city and airport
The metro Red Line links the Zuoying interchange with central Kaohsiung and Kaohsiung International Airport. Confirm your destination station and the last usable departure for the day. For regional TRA travel, check whether your next service calls at Xinzuoying or requires another change; a same-city label does not guarantee a same-platform transfer.
Pre-trip checklist
- Confirm whether the journey uses THSR, TRA, or a separate tourism railway.
- Check the full station name because HSR and TRA stations may be in different parts of the same city.
- Recheck current operator information shortly before departure.
- Allow enough time for transfers between rail systems and local transport.
